The Grand Parade: A Walk for Our Seniors
On Saturday,
September 19, 2026, The Grand Parade will once again bring people together in a spirit of community, compassion, and care. More than 100 walkers and volunteers will join in support of the residents at
Mauno Kaihla Koti Long-Term Care Home, working toward a shared goal of
$50,000 to enhance resident comfort and engagement through Smart TVs and Bluetooth wireless headphones.

Mauno Kaihla Koti (MKK) is a fully air-conditioned 63-bed long-term care home providing 24-hour nursing and personal care services for individuals who can no longer live independently. Opened in 1991, the home features private and shared accommodations across two resident wings and is dedicated to supporting residents’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being through nursing care, recreation programs, nutrition services, housekeeping, laundry, and medical support. MKK promotes a warm, home-like environment where residents are encouraged to personalize their spaces, stay socially engaged, and maintain meaningful connections with loved ones, while safety features throughout the home help ensure comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
What is The Grand Parade?
It's a charitable program of Blue Sea Foundation who's mission is to help charities across Canada fundraise for their causes.
This was our fourth year in a row participating in this national, family-friendly fundraiser walk that helps support local charities such as ours who provide essential care and service for aging Canadians.
The Grand Parade 2025 made it possible to purchase new dining room chairs for our Kotitalo Assisted Living Home, helping create a more welcoming and comfortable dining experience for residents. This meaningful addition supports both comfort and connection in one of the most shared spaces in the home.
Thank you to everyone who donated, fundraised, and came together last year to transform the dining room into a more comfortable, better-than-basic area for our loved ones and community seniors!
