The Grand Parade: A Walk for Our Seniors
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, we’ll come together once again for The Grand Parade a joyful celebration of community, compassion, and care. Over 100 walkers and volunteers will rally in support of the Kotitalo residents of The Ontario Finnish Resthome, walking to raise $65,000 for brand-new dining chairs that bring more comfort and dignity to their daily lives.

Kotitalo, built in 1982, is a three-storey Supportive Housing facility with 111 units—30 one-bedroom and 81 bachelor apartments—serving 114 residents. It provides sheltered housing and enhanced living for seniors over 60 and adults 55+ with disabilities.
What is The Grand Parade?
It's a charitable program of Blue Sea Foundation who's mission is to help charities across Canada fundraise for their causes.
This was our fourth year in a row participating in this national, family-friendly fundraiser walk that helps support local charities such as ours who provide essential care and service for aging Canadians.
The 2024 Grand Parade allowed for the purchase of new dining room chairs and common area furniture for our Mauno Kaihla Koti (MKK) Long-term Care home. These chairs will accompany the recent dining room table upgrades that were made possible because of our AMAZING supporters. Thank you to all who donated, fundraised, and gathered together on Sept. 21 to continue creating a more comfortable, better than basic home for our loved ones and your community seniors!
